Finding Faith in Everyday Life: Do Not Grow Weary
Spiritual Growth
Faith is built over time through our ordinary seasons.
Welcome, it’s tea time. A moment to slow our breathing, open the Word, and allow His love and truth to do its quiet, faithful work in us. ☕️ 📖
Galatians 6:9
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Some seasons in life feel slow, tiring, and routine. Dirty laundry is like that for me. It’s always there, needing to be washed, folded, and put away—day after day. So much of life is made up of these simple, everyday tasks—laundry, meals, errands. Not flashy, not urgent, just quiet work done behind the scenes.
And really, most of our lives are lived in the steady rhythm of ordinary things.
It’s in these moments that it’s easy to believe the lie that nothing is happening. That God isn’t working. That I’m not growing. He feels quiet, and I start to expect faith to feel powerful and visible, even if I don’t say it out loud.
But spiritual growth is often found in the quiet maintenance of our hearts.
When I make a pot of tea, it doesn’t change color right away. It releases its flavor slowly. The longer it steeps, the richer it becomes. In the same way, I may not always see the Lord working in me—but He is.
Striving and rushing can pull me away from what matters most: the peaceful, steady work of sitting with His Word, remaining in prayer, and walking in simple obedience. Faith is not built in bursts of intensity, but over time, in ordinary, faithful moments.
And little by little, those moments begin to shape us.
We see it when we respond with calm instead of frustration, with kindness instead of irritation, with patience instead of hurry. Others begin to notice—not us, but the quiet work God is doing within us.
My friend, maybe today you feel unseen, and your days feel repetitive. I want you to know this: God sees you. He notices your faithfulness in the small, everyday details. This season that feels slow and hidden is not wasted.
If you need a place to begin today, here are three simple practices:
Stay consistent in reading Scripture, even when it feels dry.
Write down and thank the Lord for small signs of growth.
Pray one honest sentence each day: “Lord, shape me as I grow in faith.”
Immerse yourself in God’s love with me, my friend. This gentle, steady process of faith—it is sacred work.
Prayer
Lord, I ask You to reveal Yourself to my friend today who feels unseen. Remind her of Your precious promises as she continues to grow, little by little, in faith. Amen.
