Salvation: Accepting Jesus as Your Savior
Salvation is God’s gift of love to us. Because of sin, humanity is separated from God, but He made a way for us to be restored through His Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation is not something we earn. It is received by faith when we believe in Jesus and trust Him as our Savior.
The Bible tells us that every person has sinned and needs forgiveness.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23
God’s love is shown in that He sent Jesus to die for our sins so we could be forgiven and brought back into relationship with Him.
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8
When we believe in Jesus and receive Him as Savior, God forgives our sins and gives us eternal life.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16
The Bible also tells us how simple this step of faith is.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
— Romans 10:9
Accepting Jesus as Savior begins with a sincere prayer, turning to God, confessing our need for Him, and placing our faith in Jesus. When we do, we are forgiven, welcomed into God’s family, and begin a new life walking with Him.
Salvation is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Jesus, where we grow in faith, learn from His Word, and experience the deep peace of knowing we belong to Him.
