Jesus Lights Our Way
1 John 1:5
God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
Welcome, ☺️
I’m glad you are here. Take a few minutes to sit with me, Bible open, tea in hand, as we consider Jesus our Light.
I could feel the darkness. There was no moonlight, and the starry sky wasn’t enough.
My eyes were constantly straining to adjust as I walked along an unfamiliar path. Fear of stumbling, worry about turning off onto a side path, and anxiety for my personal safety had my heartbeat escalating. I wished I’d brought a flashlight.
Maybe you’ve had a similar experience. A time in your life when you felt you were walking in darkness—anxious, searching for direction, wondering if you were on the right path, fearful of what the future held.
What comfort we find in Jesus’ words to us:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” — John 8:12
And again:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Jesus is the Light we need to illuminate our path through this dark world. He loves us and promises that we will not walk in darkness when we follow Him. He desires to guide us and lead us safely along the path He has prepared for us.
If you are feeling in the dark, with your thoughts in turmoil, ask the Lord to calm them. Ask Him to help you hear His voice and to help you see the next step before you.
You may not be able to see the whole path. You may not know what lies around the next bend. But you have the Light.
And He has given us His Word—a lamp for our feet and a light for our path. As we open His Word, we find the guidance, wisdom, and truth we need for the next step.
You may not know where the path will lead, but you know Who is leading you.
Jesus is your Light.
He will guide you through His Word, bringing clarity to your thoughts and showing you the next step. And as you follow Him, His light will continue to shine before you—day by day, step by step—until you are safely home with Him in Heaven.
