Secure In Christ
Step 1Can I Lose My Salvation?
To me, this question carries a quiet sadness. What peace could we truly have if we were constantly afraid of losing heaven? That kind of uncertainty doesn’t reflect the loving, faithful God we come to know in Scripture.
One reason we may struggle with this question is that we still sin. And yet, God has already spoken to that concern. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
When we trust Jesus as our Savior, we are given eternal life. And eternal life means just that—eternal and secure.
Jesus said, “No one can snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:28), and “whoever believes in me shall never die” (John 11:26).
And Scripture reminds us that nothing—“neither death, nor life…nor any other creature”—can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38–39).
When we sin, it does not break our relationship with God, but it can affect our fellowship with Him—our closeness, our joy, our sense of peace. Confession restores that fellowship, not our salvation.
Because of this truth, we can live with deep comfort and steady peace, knowing we are safely held.
We are not held by our strength or actions, but by His.
So we can rest, secure and loved—forever His.
